An article published Online first and in this week's issue of The Lancet describes that despite demonstrating some promise in high-risk singleton pregnancies, progesterone treatment still does not avoid early preterm birth in pregnant women with twins. Previous examinations have recommended that progesterone treatment might prevent preterm birth in high-risk singleton pregnancies, but it is still unclear if treatment is effective in twin pregnancies.
